Chris and Emily love Vashon Island. Chris attended school on Vashon. I helped them put together a long range plan to acquire a their new home. When I asked them what charity they would like me to support, they chose Vashon-Maury Island Land Trust. They are great stewards of the earth and love that this organization is the lifeblood behind the amazing community of Vashon and Maury Island.

The Vashon-Maury Island Land Trust is a nonprofit organization committed to protecting the natural beauty, rural character, and ecological health of Vashon and Maury Islands. Through strategic land conservation, habitat restoration, and stewardship, the Trust ensures that vital places—like forests, shorelines, wetlands, trails, and farmland—are preserved not just for today, but for generations to come. Their work supports climate resilience, thriving wildlife habitats, regenerative agriculture, and public access to open spaces, helping to maintain the unique character and environment that make the islands so special.
